Nana's big helper!

Monday Stephanie and I painted the bedroom that she is making into Tanek's school room. It turned out really nice. Tanek was very excited and wanted to help paint. He loves to help and his favorite thing is to "do it all by myself". After we finished painting we went and got pizza's for dinner and then I had to water my plants out front since we hadn't had any rain. Tanek was very happy to help me.

He really does like to help do just about anything we are doing. But it really makes him the happiest when he can do it himself.
Trying to show him how to hold it so it will keep spraying.

He is getting the hang of it now.

And now he can do it "all by myself"

There just isn't anything sweeter than a grand-child. They are just so eager to be helpful and be a part of your life. I just love this little guy.

Almost always a happy guy and always ready to help out. How very blessed we are with grand-children. It really is our reward for growing older. In just a couple more days I will have my grand-daughters visiting for a few days. Life is good. Grand-children are Wonderful. Thank you God that you created grand-children. They make life so sweet.

Father's Day 2010

We had a very nice and relaxing Father's Day today. We went to church this morning. Afterwards I fixed lunch for Rick, Stephanie and Tanek and us. We had a nice lunch and then went swimming. The weather held off and we had a good time in the pool.

Tanek, always happy and ready to have his picture taken.
Tanek is doing so well with his swimming. Here he is diving for rings in the pool. You can see his little feet up out of the water.

He likes being able to swim in the deep end when his mom or dad are in the pool.

He is almost able to swim the width of the pool.

Aftrer an afternoon of swimming they went home for some relaxing time. Papa and I went to see Toy Story 3. I was hoping we would all be able to go together, but they couldn't go today, so we decided to go preview it for them. I really liked the movie. There were some sad parts in it. It is that life cycle of kids growing up and leaving the home. Makes you realize just how fast time goes by. Also made me not want to get rid of any of the toys. :) Happy Fathers day to all the fathers. What an important role you have in life. So thankful that my precious grand-children have a good father and mother. So much fun to be a part of their lives.

Tanek swimming to his daddy. I know I am posting a lot of pool pictures, but we are spending a lot of time swimming. That is one of Tanek's favorite things to do and he is really doing well at it.

Pool Fun With Tanek

This afternoon Ricky grilled some hamburgers and we had fresh corn on the cob from the garden. Very yummy. Afterwards we all went swimming. Stephanie and Ricky were playing catch in the pool....with Tanek. He was loving it.
Back and forth he went. High up in the air.

Tanek is really enjoying the pool and learning to swim better every day. The past two days the temp in the sun has been over 100 degrees. So when you are in the pool and the water is 90, it feels great. We are really enjoying the pool this summer.

Here is a video of Tanek being thrown in the air.

Mr. BunBun says Thanks

My hubs has a very soft spot for animals. It was so hot yesterday and he saw how Mr. BunBun was trying hard to stay cool. SO...................
he put a fan out on the porch so it would blow on him. He lays there and his fur is blowing and he is very happy and cooler. He would like to say thanks. It is much cooler now. We do love our pets.

Can you say it is "HOT" outside!

This was the temp at 3:00 this afternoon. Summer is officially here. Well actually we only have summer and winter so now that winter is (thankfully) over, we are into summer. These temps will go on until around October or even into November. When you live in Florida you are very thankful for two things. A/C in the summer and heat in the winter. I prefer the summer no matter how hot it gets. There is always the pool to jump in and cool off in. So if you are too hot, come on over for a swim. The water feels wonderful.

Mr. Bun Bun knows how to stay cool too. He is right under where the A/C drips cool water.
A quick potty break and Stanley and Daisey are saying "please let me back in".

The garden that was so beautiful just a week or so ago has just about gone the limit. We have lots of peas put up in the freezer and the garden has been good to us.
It is all saying, were DONE!

Except for my favorite part. The watermelons are just about to get ready. These are the little sugar babies that you can sit down and eat the whole thing. No left overs. Yummy. Can't wait.

Anniversary & Graduation Week-end!

This past week-end Gary and I celebrated 46 years of marriage. We also went to a couple graduation parties. Friday night we went to Krista's and on Saturday morning we left to go to New Port Richey to meet up with Heather and Emily and her family for Shea's graduation celebration. On Sat. we all went to the beach. That was a lot of fun. It was very very hot. I think the temps were up to about 99 degrees. The water was very warm. We had a very nice time.
Emily above with a shell and Chelsea in the background and Heather enjoying the beach. This family loves the beach. Whenever they come down from Maryland, or Minnesota they always head to the beach. Even in the winter. It is very nice that Danny and Jenny live very close to the beach.
These Maryland and Minnesota bodies need lots of sunscreen.

Danny & Jenny sitting under a palm in the shade. Probably wishing they were on a deserted island.

Sweet little Emily was loving the sand, the water and the shells. She had a great time.

Saturday evening it was Pizza at Danny & Jennies. Heather, Karen and Jenny were preparing the food for Shea's party on Sunday afternoon. Nicole and Casey are enjoying the pizza.

Not sure what Karen was doing here, but if you know Karen you know it could be just about anything. haha Caught her and Shea off guard.

Papa sitting with Emily

Gaga and Emily are eating cherries. I am trying to download a game on my iphone for Emily.

We went to the sponge docks in Tarpon Springs on Saturday night. This is such a neat little place to visit. Tarpon Springs is a really cool town. They were having a Greek festival and there was a lot going on that night. Casey is getting ready to be attacked by a shark.

Casey and her mom Karen give a quick pose.

These two twin sisters (born 5 years apart). When you get these two together just about anything can happen. We had lots of fun and I am not sure that Homewood Suites in Port Richey will ever be the same again. But that is another story and I have NO pictures to show of that.

Me with my daughter in law Heather. So good to spend time with her and Emily and her family.

They grow "BIG" turtles in Tarpon Springs.

Casey met a new friend at the sponge docks.

Karen, Casey & Nicole playing duck duck goose with Emily. I guess you can see who the goose is.

Shea, Jenny & Emily. Shea is checking on her friend who is coming to the party.

Jenny holding the baby, Heather being cute and Chelsea with her phone. What would we do without our phones?

Emily performing a dance for us.

Mike and Marion (Heather's dad and step mom) and another set of grand-parents. Emily had 3 grand-mothers here.

Aunt Karen and Emily.

Emily and her Nana

Gaga with Emily. This is Heathers mom and Emily's other grandma. Emily had lots of people to love on her. Grandparents, Aunts, Uncle, and cousins.

Gary with Beth, Nicole, and Casey and Beth's babies. Beth is Heathers sister.

Nicole and Casey with one of the babies.

Susan and I. Long time, forever friends.

We let Gary in this picture. It was after all our anniversary. It was a fun week-end. I am glad we got to be a part of it.
