Home School Convention

This past Thursday and Friday Stephanie, Tanek and I attended the FPEA Home School Convention held at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando.  On the way down we stopped at Downtown Disney for a visit to the Lego Store.

Tanek's favorite thing is Lego's.  He loves them, has tons of them and is very creative with them.
He enjoyed being able to make and race cars

The Gaylord Palms is a very nice and fun place to stay.  We enjoyed walking around seeing their beautiful gardens, watching the alligators get fed, and of course swimming in the pool and sliding down the slides.

These cute little guys are having a nice time of sunning.
 They had water falls everywhere

 Beautiful fish
And the flowers and landscaping were gorgeous

Tanek and I love the slides.  This was a part of their million dollar remodel and we think it was a good thing.

Friday afternoon a wild fire broke out across the street and they had to close the pool area for a few hours.  It got pretty scary looking and was really close, but it didn't take long and the fire department had it under control.
You can see why it was necessary to close the pool area.
More of the hotel.  This was the KeyWest section.
 More of their beautiful gardens

 They had orchids everywhere.
The convention is always good.  It is so neat to see how much literature and things are available for  home school.  We also attended some really good conferences  This is a weekend we always enjoy.
