A Little History Fun!

This week we made a couple canoes to go with our lesson about the Pilgrims and Indians.  

 Mixing up the flour and salt and water to make the canoes.

 And some help from papa 

 All finished.  Waiting for them to dry out so Tanek can paint them.

 Last week his mom and dad took him to the Museum of Science and History in Gainesville and he got to sit in a real canoe.

How Does Your Garden Grow???

The garden is doing very well.  We will have lots of good veggies if it keeps growing as well as it is now.

 Lots of tomatoes= lots of fresh salsa

 Lots of peas, beans, squash, cukes and who knows what all

A Visit to the Allergist

Today I went with Stephanie and Tanek to see an allergist.  Tanek has been having some problem with allergies.  They did blood work a couple weeks ago and found him to have lots of allergies.  A scratch test confirmed just how many and to what.

 Pretty much he is allergic to all grasses, trees, weeds anything that grows outside plus peanuts, corn and soy.  A few other things too.
This test doesn't exactly hurt, but it isn't a very pleasant test either.

 If the scratches become welts and red they are a positive result.  As you can see out of 50 different tests, he is pretty much allergic to everything.

 These scratches made him very itchy and even run a temp.  After he went through all the tests we took him to Applebee's to dinner to reward him for all he went through. Now the big decision is how to treat this.  The doctor recommends shots.  Once a week for more than a year and then less often for 3-5 years.  

Easter 2012

 Friday night was the first of our Easter pageant.  The children's choir had a part in it and they were all so cute and did such a good job.

 Easter afternoon he hunted for eggs.  He is looking for the one that has the money in it.

 And blowing bubbles is always fun.  We had a really nice Easter.

A Visit to the Cardiologist!

My sweet grand-son was born with a small heart murmur.  His pediatrician heard it and sent him to a cardiologist.  It was just small and they thought he would outgrow it, but every year he had to go and be checked.  Last year it had gotten smaller and they couldn't hear it, but it still showed up on the echo cardiogram.  This year they couldn't hear it and it did NOT show up on the echo.  YEA!!! It is gone.  We were so happy to hear that good news and thank God for his healing.

 Thankful these don't hurt.

 It takes longer to put all the tabs on than the test actually takes.

 Then it is time to take them all off.

 And then you wait to see the doctor.

 He is a good doctor.  Thankfully he couldn't hear anything that shouldn't be there.

Soccer Time Again!

Tanek is playing Upward Soccer again.  It is so much fun to watch these kids play.  I really like their green and blue uniforms this year.
