Christmas Party at the Lilbrary

Twice a month they have story time at the Library. Tanek really enjoys going. He likes to check out books and he likes the games and stories. This week they had their Christmas party with cookies, punch and Santa. The Library was all decorated pretty too. This picture is of Tanek, an elf and a Florida bear. We knew it was a Florida bear, because he was cold and had on a coat, hat and boots.

A time of telling Santa what you want for Christmas. This was easy. Legos and more legos.

Yummy cookies

After he had talked to Santa earlier and had his cookies he decided he needed to tell Santa something. He wanted to tell Santa that his mommy and daddy were his Santa.

Snow at the Gaylord Palms

This week-end Stephanie, Tanek and I went to Disney to see all the Christmas lights and decorations and also to the Gaylord Palms to see their Ice and Snow. The below pictures are of just the snow part. I will post the Ice ones later. Tanek had the best time playing in the snow. We made snowballs and he slid down the hill on a raft. It was a lot of fun. The snow wasn't too cold, but the ice area was 9 degrees. VERY cold. It was fun to go see and play in but I was glad we could get out of it after awhile even though it was cold in Orlando today. Only 41 degrees when we came out. Brrrrrrrr. I am going to Florida where it is warm. :)

Tanek had a lot of fun making snow balls and throwing them at us. We all agreed when we got in the car on the way home that we would not like to live in the snow. Fun to play in but happy to leave behind.

Stephanie and Tanek were going to make a snow man but we didn't have time.

Tanek trying to make a snow angel

Another family made this snowman so we took advantage of it to get some pictures.

We went to see the Ice and there were some beautiful scupltures and then we came to play in the snow. It was much warmer in the snow than in the Ice. In the ice we wore big parka's and I felt like a 300 lb. Eskimo. Yuk.

Christmas time 2010

The house has been decorated inside and out since Thanksgiving. The pictures I don't think really do it justice. I think it looks much better than the pictures show. The lights outside are very hard to get good pictures of. Thankfully I took these before the cold came in because now all of the plants are brown and drooping. Basically dead. I just thought I would share the pictures anyway. I was disappointed that I couldn't do all the decorating that I wanted to do.
Since we are in the process of re-doing the backyard with a pool enclosure and refinishing the pool deck and none of it is finished I could not decorate out back or on the back porch which I normally do. I guess that will have to just wait until next year. Not very many people hate cold weather as much as I do. I absolutely hate it. I would be happy to live where it never got below 60 degrees even at night. I hate when my yard turns all brown and dead and I dislike having to try to cover everything up and keep it alive. SO....this year I decided not too. And for that, I now have a very dead yard. I am at the point that if it comes back it can live here, if not oh well.
So I was very glad that I took the pictures outside before the cold weather. I wish I was able to get a picture of the whole yard together, but I can't really capture that with my camera.

Angel Choir

My husband has been so helpful to keep all these lights burning. I have already had to replace several strands of lights and he has fixed many of them. Next year I will not be using icycle lights because they are a pain. I love the new led lights that are individual bulbs that are easy to replace when needed and I am slowly trying to replace most of my lights. I do love this time of year and even though putting up all these lights is a lot of work I really enjoy it. I look forward every year to making it a little better and a little bigger. This year I could not make it bigger, but hopefully I can make up for that next year.

Children's Christmas Program at Trinity

This past Sunday night the children's choir put on their Christmas program. They did an awesome job and there is a lot of talent is these children. A great big thanks to all the workers who spent so much time in preparation for this. These pictures I took at the rehersal on Thursday night. Tanek was Joseph and Hannah was Mary. They were so cute and did such a good job.

A sweet hug of support from mom

The singing choir. This little girl can really sing. It is amazing how these children perform with no fear and are just so natural. Love watching them.

We had some of the cutest little angels you ever saw. Shepherds, wisemen all so cute.

Mary and Joseph are good friends

Such sweet little angels

And what a cute shepherd.

These children really put their hearts into this program and they did an awesome job. It was a real joy for the parents and grand-parents to see their sweet children on stage doing such a great job.

Blogging mayham

I am not having much fun with this blog right now. When trying to upload my pictures at Thanksgiving I was told I had met my limit and could not put anymore pictures on. SO....I decided to start a new blog. Well it still would NOT let me put on pictures. Then my daughter in law signed me up for photo bucket but as you can see I still can't get it to work right. SO, I don't know what I am going to do. Right now I am quite frustrated with blogging. I am ready to just delete the whole blog and forget it. I see that Karen had the same problem and she got it fixed, so maybe eventually I will figure it out. In the meantime, this is the best I have to offer. Sorry.

Finally, I did figure it out. I paid the $5 for more space and now I can put on up to 10,000 pictures. SO...I am back in business. Photo bucket is an interesting thing I may try out too. I do like how it keeps the pictures moving. May be good for a sideshow. It is hard to be so technically challenged. There was a time I couldn't even change my background and I finally can do that, so I guess given enough time I may get the hang of this.
