Daisey & Tanek

Tanek gets down to have a face to face encounter with Daisey. I think he got a unexpected kiss.
I think he decided it was better from up here and not quite so close.

Some of the Sunday Night Crowd from Trinity Baptist

As usual after church on Sunday night we find a place to go eat. Tonight it was at ihop. We had great food and good service.
Waiting for our food. Someone must have said something funny. Looks like Ester is reading a fortune cookie or something.
There were 17 at this table and we got real good service from our two waitresses.
Paul is trying to hide from the camera. It is a pretty big menu, but I still managed to get part of him in the picture.
A good time was had by all. Nothing was left over, because all left over pancakes came down to Gary and he took care of them.
Anyone know who this is??? This is what "he" gets for giving me a hard time!
These are our Bible study teachers. We have a great class and this is a good part of our class.
Paul is enjoying his cup of coffee. The food was good and the fellowship great. Fun time.
These were our watresses. They were very good and gave us good service. We had the whole back room at ihop and they kept the food coming in.
We met this watress last time we were there. Angela. She is a very sweet lady and a good watress. We like to have her wait on us.

Fun with friends

Saturday night and time for fun and a game of cards (phase 10). These 2 are probably our longest time friends. We have known them for about 34 years. We have had many many good times and boy can we tell some stories of some of our events.
When we have dinner here it is usually a mexican feast. This is a strawberry pie that Charlene made. It was yummy and a good way to finish off a good meal.
Gary is trying to take "my" piece of pie and give me his half eaten piece. Didn't work. Ha!

More on the Garden!

Papa is watering and Tanek wants to help, but first he has to show Papa a airplane flying over.
Tanek likes to help his Papa. He wants to help water and see the garden grow.
Here comes the squash. Every day something else pops up and things grow a little bigger.
See in the background? There are several rows of peas growing. The little green plants are the peas.
Must keep it watered. Twice a day in the dry days. Rain doesn't stay in this ground for long.

How Does Your Garden Grow?

Here is Papa getting ground ready for a pumpkin patch. On Sat. I remembered that I wanted to plant a pumpkin patch so I would have pumpkins to decorate for fall. So he was kind enough to dig up more ground.
The pea's are growing bigger. We will have plenty of these if they keep on growing.
The watermelons are sprouting too. It looks like the ground is dry, but we just had over 2 inches of rain on this ground. It is very sandy and watermelons like that. Here are tomatoes and bell peppers. They were just planted on Friday.
If all this comes up do you think Papa will have enough to keep him busy? I think he will. Hopefully all this will grow and do well. We are not exactly professional gardeners but we know some that are and they are giving Papa advice. A lot depends on the weather. Some people's garden got rained out this past week-end. Lucky ours is high and dry and just needs to be watered more often.

After Church on Sunday Night!

Shortly after church on Sunday night the question is "where are we going to go eat?" Tonight it was Wendy's. It varies. Keystone doesn't have to many places to offer so sometimes we go into Starke, but mostly we stay in Keystone. Wendy's needs to stock up on Frosty's as they usually run out. (Could it be because they give them out free with a church bulletin?)
Sharing food and friendship.
This little ham in the back corner loves to have his picture taken. And what a sweetie little girl in front.
Waiting for their food.

Megan is enjoying making some new friends at Trinity.

The beginning of a garden!

Papa and Tanek plowing up the ground for the garden. As you can see it was still cold when they started. It took several weeks to get the ground ready and then we had to wait until it got warm enough.

Country Living!

Last fall we painted this huge building. It is 1/2 garage and 1/2 whatever. Mine half is the whatever. I used to use it when cutting out leotards. I have a great big table in there. I am working on making it into a card studio where I can make my cards. However...it isn't there yet. Anyway we made it look good on the outside. We used about 30 bags of rock to make the two walkways and unbelieveable amounts of mulch. It is easier to keep up now. Next project (this fall hopefully) is to paint the house the same color.
This is my new hydrangea bush. The reason it is so pretty is because thats how it was when I bought it a few days ago. Wonder what it will look like in a few weeks?
Papa is watering his garden. This is his new project. He has planted peas, corn, squash, okra(yuk) cucumbers, watermelons (yum) tomatoes, bell peppers. If it all comes up we will eat good this summer. He gets to pick, shell and do all that stuff. I don't do that. I also DON'T do anything to okra. In my opinion it is the nastiest veggie ever grown. But it is his favorite. How do you ever get a taste for okra???? You must have to grow up in the south and start very young. The peas are already sprouting. That is a very good sign. He is going to be Very busy shelling.

Two Furry O'Steens

This is Daisey who is "all" Gary's dog. She loves him to pieces and tolerates me if I will feed her or give her a treat. But if she can have Gary all to herself she is much happier.

This is Stanley. He came for me and Daisey tolerates him too. I told Daisey if she had been nicer to me then Stanley wouldn't even be here. So she can just put up with him. He does annoy her a lot but he loves me and he loves Gary too. He isn't much for kids or stangers though. He is pretty sweet most of the time. He can be quite yappy especially when I am on the phone.

Springtime in Florida!

Springtime in Florida is so nice. Here we are in the mid 70's - 80's each day. Flowers are blooming all over and it is just nice. I think about all of you up north in the brrrr weather. But....along about August and September when we are sweltering in 90+ degrees and 99% humitity I will also be thinking about you with a little envy. But for now I am loving it and it is a great time to live in Florida. Good time for a visit too if you are up north or even out west.

The many faces of Tanek

After his melt down he is happy and playful again.
Is it time to go swimming yet?
I can wear my Papa's hat!
I love playing on the back porch!
I have to grow a little more to fit in Papa's hat.

Tanek didn't want Daddy to Leave

When Ricky brought Tanek over today he did NOT want his daddy to leave him. We were both so surprised because usually he just happily says bye bye and comes and starts playing. Today was a different story. I just had to take these pictures as you so seldom see him this upset. After I took the pictures he was fine and we went out and played and he has been great the rest of the day. He just had a little melt down for a few minutes. He is usually so happy and he is again.
